CONTINUING EDUCATION

Requirements for Real Estate Agents

 

Licensed Real Estate agents in the state of Georgia are required to take continuing education courses. According to the Georgia Real Estate Commission and Appraisal Board, Real Estate agents must do the following to renew their license:

 

  • Have six (6) hours of continuing education courses for each year of the renewal period established by the commission. License Law 43-40-8 Rule 520-2-.07

  • Renewal is due during the month of your birthday in the designated year as shown on your pocket card. The Georgia Real Estate Commission will mail a renewal application to your broker within a month or two of the date that your renewal is due. However, you are responsible to keep your license current. Rule 520-1-.29

  • If your license is inactive, you must pay renewal fees to maintain an inactive license. You will not be required to complete continuing education courses until you apply to reactivate your license. License Law 43-40-8 Rule 520-1-.05

  • Keep all your continuing education certificates. At time of renewal, you can submit them with your renewal application. License Law 43-40-8 Rule 520-1-.05
